You will learn everything you need to know about the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) in this course. It is directed at everyone who uses substances that are harmful to their health at work, as well as line managers who are in charge of such employees.
What exactly do we mean by “Substances Hazardous to Health” then?
According to the Classification, Labelling and Packaging Regulation (CLP), these are compounds that are categorised as “very toxic, toxic, harmful, corrosive, or irritant.” Along with a set of laws known as REACH, this new regulation went into effect in January 2009. REACH, a legislation of the European Union governing the registration, evaluation, authorization, and restriction of chemicals, went into effect on June 1st, 2007. One of the main aims of REACH is to provide a
high level of protection for human health and the environment from the use of chemicals.
